Visit by Priest from My Childhood

Message from Father Janez Kalan to Valentina Papagna in Sydney, Australia on July 23, 2025

This morning, I received a surprise visit from a priest from my childhood, Father Janez Kalan. He knew my family very well, including my sisters Angela and Bernarda. He had never appeared to me before.

Father Janez said, “Our Lord sent me because I was from your Parish. I baptised you, I gave you all the Sacraments, but not Marriage. It was always Angela, Valentina, and Bernarda. It was always the three of you. I knew you all."

“I was sent by our Lord to give you courage and to tell you that your messages are authentic, but sadly, people just ignore them. It is very sad, but be courageous. Keep praying. We all pray for you.”

“I am so very proud that our Lord chose you from our Parish back home. You have a great mission. Be courageous, keep going and don’t give up.”

Father Janez died on 21 July 1963 from a heart attack. I remember he had a deep devotion to the Holy Souls in Purgatory. He always desired to help them. He would never spend too much time talking with the people from our Parish. Instead, he would go into the Church to pray in front of the Blessed Sacrament. He was a very holy person.
